The 16" Wuhan medium-thin crash cymbals are perfect all-purpose mid-sized crash cymbals. Each Wuhan crash cymbal is cast from high quality B20 alloy then carefully hand hammered and lathed before receiving a striking brilliant finish. At these prices, most cymbals are made from cheap sheet material, but the Wuhan Traditional crash cymbals are cast from the same B20 alloy used in many of today's high end cymbals. You will not find better quality or nicer sounding cymbals at this price level.

Thought I’d give it try. I was wrong. Sounds awful, like a big tin can lid. Get what pay for, should have known better. Don’t waste your $80 on this

I was looking into replacing a cracked 16" Zildjian A Custom Med Thin Crash and after weeks of reading up on these Wuhan cymbals, it seemed like both a thrifty alternative (they're both made from B20 Bronze) and a low risk test, seeing as in the event I don't like it, I'm only out a little more than $60 USD. I waited anxiously. Then it arrived a day early (+1 Amazon!)...The verdict:Stunning visuals. The mirror-like finish shows off the hand hammering beautifully. Light bounces off all over the place from this thing, almost like it was a brick of gold melted down. The Medium Thin certainly has solid weight to it and feels sturdy, more so than my Zildjian Avedis' even. About 1/4" from the edge, the bow of the cymbal levels out, almost like a subtle nod to the China cymbals Wuhan is famous for. Which leads to the sound (the part everyone cares about)...Complex and Amazing. In every sense. This cymbal not only keeps up with my As and A Customs, I think it has more to say! Quiet playing/jazz patterns showcase a dark, washy character, just shy of gonging out. Stick articulation is surprisingly balanced, clear but the perfect amount of wash underneath. Swells on the edge from the shoulder of the sticks produce a rich, smooth crescendo, the likes of which I've only heard on cymbals 5x the price. But underneath that swell, the tone is trashy, swirling, explosive and very complex. Very reminiscent of my first Wuhan China, but mixed with a beauty only achieved in brilliant finish crashes. After practicing with my band (we play modern hardcore, so really dark, loud, heavy music), this crash cut through with the perfect tonality I was looking for, while being able to swell and add dynamics and body to lower volume passages as well. It's perfect!I read that the quality control is very mixed with Wuhans and being handmade they all differ, and some complain about the tone/quality of these cymbals. I believe, after putting this cymbal through the ringer, that it is a unique, beautiful, quality instrument, but I also believe that some people will play this cymbal and be turned off by its character and complex sound. Some will call it trashy, if you're used to a certain sound. But with an open mind these cymbals can be used to beautiful effect and I am so glad I ordered one!

This is my 2nd WUHAN cymbal purchase. I have a small kit for jams and some basic recording. I already had a couple other ride cymbals that came with the kit when I got it, but needed crash and splash sounds. A friend recommended I check out WUHAN and I must say I'm pretty happy with them so far. I received my last one about a month ago, on time, well-packaged and they are everything I expected them to be.I play drums but do not consider myself a pro drummer, and I must say that the sounds produced by these WUHAN cymbals are good. This particular one, has the right amount of "crispness" and decay for what I do and so far, seem to hold up pretty well to my playing and that of other actual drummers that have come through and played them.Yes, the other big cymbal companies have some amazing products that produce some amazing sounds, but for an entry level player, a "for-fun" player or simply someone who has a limited budget, WUHAN really is an affordable and legitimate alternative that will not compromise sound or quality for cost.I would definitely recommend them and will more than likely, purchase others in the future for my personal use.

It sounds almost like a gong, but doesn't ring as much.

Wuhan makes great products for the money. I have the 18" medium crash and so I decided to try the 16", both are great cymbals for the buck. If you close your eyes you would swear you were using a Zylgian from the 60's or 70's. Nice tight crash with some great overtones heard in more expensive cymbals, With any cymbal it is the way that you play it that makes it sound great, so with a little drum finese you can get a great sound out of it, the 18" is a bit warmer than the 16", the 16" sounds well smaller and a little less sustain a bit colder than the 18", bought 4 Wuhans, the 16",18" 21"(ride) and a 12" splash. Will review each one as they come in from Amazon. Why the 4 stars?....well its not a higher end or classic zylgian but damn close, if your on a budget like I am, go for Wuhans. I have been a producer and multi instrumentalist for years, this is a really good product and excellent 16" crash. Wuhan really impresses me. There are some great video's of Wuhans on You Tube, you should really check those out before buying Wuhans, or any cymbal for that matter. I am very pleased with this 16" crash!

I got it yesterday, due to packaging the cymbal was deformed/indented on one side (and my wife called me that it was badly damaged when i asked her). I got home (after working like a dog) and popped it right into its original shape! so it thought, this is great, the bronze metal they used (B20) is flexible and the cymbal did not crack or bent after i corrected the problem. Tested it on the stand, the sound is awesome (just like the old thin Zildjian 16" crash i used to have). It's not "gongy" sounding at all, shimmering and lots of sustain, though I thought the attack is a bit slow (must be because it's a medium thin weight?). Anyway, I will get a Wuhan's 10" splash for sure. the cymbal has nice brilliant finish though a few small spots of imperfections (comparing to Zildjian or Sabian). Other than that, the B20 bronze and the price beat all! based on the strong and flexible metal, I think this cymbal should last (and without cracks).... I really wonder how the Wuhan hi-hats sound like? hmmm... let's check some reviews shall we? Happy drumming!
