Read about them elsewhere to use as a precise time source so was aware of about how long it would take to go 3D and get a fix. Pretty much plug 'n play, put it on a window sill and it was ready in about 10 minutes. Causes no discernable interferance on short wave. 73 KI4ZUQ

I was initially concerned that there were no instructions. But I plugged it in and it started spitting out NMEA sentences. It was having a bit of trouble getting a good lock on some satellites. So I added a 6 foot USB extension cable and placed it next to a window. Success! Now it has solid lock on all of the GPS constellation. My purpose for buying it was to have an atomic time reference for my FT8 setup. Works like a charm. As a bonus, it knows my Maidenhead grid square to 8 places. I couldn't ask for better.

I'm using this with GPS2Time to get a precise time sync for digital ham radio modes. My only complaint is that the drivers for the U-blox7 sensor are annoying to install.

Overall it's hard to be mad at a $10 receiver. It does work, but unsurprisingly the internal antenna is pretty garbage. This means you'll likely need to have a usb extender to your window if you expect any reliable tracking. This device does NOT have a PPS signal, so if you were hoping for one, look elsewhere.

If it's just a red light, you're either not outside or you're getting interference from a USB3 connection- the latter really mucks up my experience, but the product works. I can't blame it for USB3'S shortcomings.

I purchased this to be installed onto a Raspberry Pi. The Pi is installed in my RV and is used to monitor onboard systems. The GPS is used with some solar prediction software to give me an estimate of solar production based on my current location.I bought this because it was cheap and I wasn't sure it was going to work. This is installed inside of an underbelly compartment in an RV surrounded by wires and metal and low and high voltage systems, right next to a solar charge controller to boot! It's pretty much everything "wrong" you can do about a GPS install. But I figured I'd try it; and it works! It stays within 20 or 30 feet of accuracy in that environment (which is just fine for this use.) Couldn't be happier, especially for the price!
