Bought this hood for my recently purchased Fujifilm X100VI. In all honesty, I got it mostly for the look. Doesn't it look cool? An additional benefit is it keeps fingers and stuff away from the front of the lens. Installing it was pretty straightforward too. Pop off the camera ring, screw on the adapter and then screw on the hood and line it up so it's straight.

Was a bit hesitant due to some reviews saying it doesn’t align correctly or that it had a gap between the adaptor and the camera. Glad to say that I am happy I got it. Looks and fits great.

I really wanted to like this hood but it just would not align properly. If I aligned it the way it should look, it's slightly loose and very easy to accidentally twist. If I tightened it down, even just mildly, it's not aligned and approaches the vertical. There was already a rubber o-ring on the filter and even if I tried to add the spare one it wouldn't sit properly. I spent about 20 minutes putting the hood on and removing it, trying different starting positions hoping it would align properly but it just never did. For all the people who tried this and it worked; congratulations.

I love the look of this hood on my X100VI. It goes beyond the looks though because I prefer to always have my X100 ready and available to shoot without worrying about lens caps and this hood is strong and sturdy to prevent any damage to the lens during heavy daily use in addition to reducing lens flare. The fit and finish are perfect and looks like a part of the camera as if it made by Fuji. It also allows me to still use a glimmer glass filter with the hood installed. It has definitely become one of my favorite accessories.

After ordering two of the other Hoage square hoods that said it fit the x100vi (which did not. X100V and x100vi are different). This one in fact DOES fit the thread pitch of the x100vi. If you want to mount a 49mm filter however the thread pitch is wrong and the filter does not fully seat. They must not actually be testing these products in house. Seems like a lazy company just trying to pump out cheap products.

I have the older version thats for the V and before and there was a gap but this version is a bit thicker and hides the gap!
