This is a very economic alternative to super expensive preamps. I could not believe how much more headroom you seem to have when using this.

it works great but it's pretty bulky. Before I had to have gain up all the way for my mic to work and there was some static. Once I added this there is less static with the gain adjusted to the same volume.

This pre-amp is intended to fit between a mic and its XLR cable. One end of the pre-amp correctly mates with the XLR connector on the mic, but the other end won't accept the XLR connector of the cable. The pr-amp connector sleeve is manufactured much too small to let the cable end slide in, so the connector pins can't mate.Total failure. There is no way to rate the actual performance as the pre-amp never becomes active.
