To the reviewer who knocked this product for the sole fact that it does not include a tool to remove the rubber grommets from the original upper fairing slider, you you should consider using a mechanic if you are unqualified to pinch a small, highly flexible, piece of rubber. To the rest of the Yamaha r1 community, I can confirm this fits the 2012-2014 (and I suspect the 2009-2011 model years as well) without any issue. Mounting to the frame, affixing the front fairing and gauge cluster, as well as windscreen (double bubble zero gravity) and oem mirrors all went without a hitch.I did notice on the backside however that there was, in places, some (negligible) excess metal from the casting which I trimmed off with a dremel. I don't think this would have caused an issue, but I didn't want any reason to mouth off trying to make something fit on a hot summer day.Overall, very happy. Also one reviewer mentioned the weight of this one being heavier than the magnesium oem part. I held them side by side to get a sense of whether this was accurate, and while not a scientific method, I noticed no discernable difference between aem/oem.For the install btw, I didn't remove any fairings. I was able to get at everything with a Dewalt 90* screwdriver adapter and a standard he (forget what size) to remove from frame. After that I disconnected the top of the right(brake) side fairings only amd slid them a pinch forward and the fairing stay was easy to remove from there. No disconnecting fairings/sensors/gauges.

It doesn't have the OE Yamaha decal but that's a very minor issue. Fits perfectly and not too difficult to install.

Was hesitant at first, but it fit perfect. Definitely heavier then the magnesium oem but you get what you pay for
