Been easy to install, paired instantly with smartthings. I was able to create codes directly from my Smartthings hub using the "life" feature in the app (Smart Lock Guest Access)Works flawlessly with both my Hub and Alexa and been able to automate my arrival/departure based on the lock's status

The lock installs with a hinge like closure. Terrible. Needs two people to install while managing the control wire. When finally installed it did not work. The trouble shooting instructions were “ go back to step 3 and reinstall”.Gave up on a name brand. Returned it. Got a Chinese for half the price and it installed easily and works well.

Well built lever lock for interior doors that integrates with the Ring Security system so that unlimited users can be added to access lock on a per user setting and system can be automated to record video when lock is unlocked. Can see history of who unlocked it and when. Great for locking rooms with high $ equipment like servers, etc. PIN pad is glass and turns on when the Yale logo is touched. Very easy to use. Also has settings for autolock functionality after X seconds with a range to choose from. This version does not need Yale app to function as it comes with the Ring WiFi module. Ring app will detect the lock when phone/tablet is in range to add device like with any other Ring device.

I purchased two of these for two separate locations, installed by two different locksmiths and they are absolutely plagued with issues. Constantly jamming, needing recalibrating etc.

The lock connected to my hub with no problem and operates fine. My issue is the handles do not fit very securely onto the lock and are loose. Not the type of quality I expect at this price point. Also dies nkt work with my iPhone 6S. Disappointing.

If you're looking at a Smart Lock I highly recommend not getting a Wi-Fi one. This is a wave z and they work great. You do need to have another wave z device in your house though for it to work. My Wi-Fi one lasts about 2 weeks and then I have to change out the batteries. This one has lasted for the last several months and I still don't have a low battery warning.

Productive defective. Yales was responsive by telephone. However, it was extremely difficult to get assistance from amazon. Product returned after many conversations with amazon before the deadline that they requested but was not reimbursed

I purchased three of these for my new home and have all of them installed. They work fine, have paired with Alexa via my "Smart Things" hub and look nice on the door.Installation went well for the most part, On one of the handles I was given a broken piece which was quickly replaced by Yale customer service. Some of the installation instructions could be a bit clearer but by the time I got to install #3 I was a pro. These locks do not seem very sturdy and a person with a hammer could make short work of them. I have used a Schlage lock on my previous home and it seemed like much more of a deterrent. The other issue is the way the handle is designed you inevitably touch the screen as you exit the house which sets the lock. This is great if you are leaving to go somewhere, a pain in the rear if you are just taking the garbage to the garbage can.My main reason for getting these was to be able to lock the doors with Alexa from upstairs. They do that beautifully.

I've always used Schlage and Kwikset smart locks in the past. I was looking for an interior garage entry door Z-wave smart lock for our vacation property. I couldn't find anything I liked in either of the "other" brands, and stumbled upon the Yale. Right from the start I was very impressed with the quality and usability/design of the Yale Lever Smart Lock. Assembly seemed simple but I had a little trouble tightening the unit to the door. Once I got past that it was simple. Again, the quality and feel of this product is amazing. The way the lock functions is smooth and nice too. The only thing I can say, is with Zigbee and Z-wave, make sure you pair the unit before installing. I did not know this and now will have to get a very long ethernet cable to place by smart controller within 10ft of the door lock. Otherwise you cannot go wrong with this Yale smart lock! I will be buying another one of these units to replace a Kwikset I have at my primary home for the same purpose, my interior garage entry door.

I wanted an electronic, connected lever lock for my side door to use with my SmartThings home control system. . The door has a deadbolt lock but I didn't want to use a deadbolt as my primary lock. I wanted to reserve that for a lock-out. It turns out that the lever lock is so tall that it interferes with the deadbolt. You can't have both. I was forced to remove and blank-out the deadbolt. Some advertising for this lock shows a lock-out button on the inside of the lock but it doesn't exist on this version.Advertising promises that you can control this lock from your phone to add temporary entry codes and observe who is using the lock. Maybe so but not with the Z-Wave connected lock. The best I can do from my phone is lock and unlock the door and observe which code unlocked the lock at a specific time. No other functions exist. If you want to add a temporary code you must do it at the lock and remember to remove it after the temporary situation has passed. That's a missing feature I was counting on. On Android phones the reported information is difficult to read as it is in thin light gray characters. At least that information is available. This hard to read text comes from the SmartThings app.Apparently, if you use the August connect system with Bluetooth to your phone (very limited range) you can do some of those things. I have no way to know which ones and on-line ratings are very poor for that system. It took a lot of trying, and resetting the lock, to learn to program it. Studying the menu chart, part of the installation instructions, helps you finally get the hang of it but it's not intuitive. Not everyone will be successful here.I went with the keypad rather than the touch-screen because I felt it would be easier for most people to use. Problem here... The keypad is flat with the door. It's very hard to see without bending over. It helps that it lights up but you have to press a key to make that happen. If you press just any key the lock thinks you're entering your code and you wind up with an error. Supposedly with the touch screen version you can just touch the lock front to get the lights but there seems to be no such entry on the keypad version. So-far I just enter the check-mark key which errors out immediately but I do get light.All-in-all, the lock is nicely made as you would expect from Yale. The interface is far less than Yale quality. Instructions are lacking in operating details and feature explanations. I've not found any advertising that explains which connection systems offer what features. That would have guided my purchase. What I have works as intended but not as I wanted. There is a lot of hype on electronic locks but none of it gives the true picture.
