This extra distance will allow for any errors in measurement and ensure

This is an OEM Yamaha control cable that fit my 2005 180F Angler w/ a Yamaha 90 TLRD 2-stoke perfectly. You will need two if replacing both the shift/throttle cables. Definitely worth it! Mine were most likely the originals, and were badly frayed (still functioned well though regardless).
