No matter how much you try to manipulate the brush, there's always going to be stray hairs that ruin the look of your calligraphy or painting. I guess you get what you pay for.

Yasutomo used to produce good brushes for sumi and calligraphy. This one is completely worthless.

I think I would have liked it if the brush bristles didn't fall out. I asked for a replacement but they wouldn't work with me.

I use it daily with alcohol based shellac for calligraphic ceramic resist - and with a good cleaning, I've gotten 2 years out of this without issue. Never expected it to last more than a month.

After one use, the hairs on this brush shed.I used it to brush/outline underglaze paint on my ceramics and hairs were left behind on the piece.
