First, everything came in perfect condition. No complaints that way.I’ve been wanting to get into free-motion quilting for a while, because I think the swirls and patterns are quite pretty. I bought this quilting foot because it came with a quilting ruler that looked easy to use.I guess it should have been obvious that I needed to place the quilting foot high enough on the shank to prevent it from moving around… but alas. The lack of instructions on installation didn’t make it easier.As of today (31 March), I’m getting the hang of the quilting foot, but I have yet to try the ruler. I’ll add more to this review once I have.

I ended up returning because my machine was bad 🤦🏻♀️😂 but this little foot is great and solid. And the ruler is a nice bonus. Maybe one day I’ll purchase again!

The easiest way to use this template... is to use it as a stencil. Use a water-soluble fabric marker to draw the design on the fabric. Then, take the template away and use a standard darning or FMQ sewing machine foot to stitch along the line! Using this template with your machine is a recipe for frustration. The plastic is too flimsy. Instead of being guided around the design, the ruler foot hits the template and snags on the plastic. It comes to a sudden stop causing skipped stitches. The thread from the skipped stitches then tangles around the foot. Causing puckers as the machine fights both template and thread to free itself. I don't recommend it for any free motion quilter, regardless of skill level. If you want to quilt with a ruler - make sure you get one made of sturdier plastic.
