I was really hoping this would be a great power supply based on the published specs for current regulation (C.C. Mode-Line Regulation ≤0.1%+3mA ). Voltage regulation seems decent, but current regulation is limited. Setting the current limit is difficult and setting currents lower than 50mA result in erratic behavior like voltage fluctuating to 0 with no load. When you set the current by turning the knob, the display shows the current setpoint, then when you stop turning, the display switches to the actual measured current. You would expect the setpoint and actual measured current to be close, but it is off by 50 mA or so. So you need to make the setpoint higher than the current you want by some additional margin. The margin does not seem consistent across all voltages or currents either. This was concerning to me, because I don't know if I can trust that the current will be regulated under all conditions. So if you plan on using it for powering sensitive or low current circuits, it may not be the best option. Maybe mine is defective, but quality control is generally good, so they probably are all designed this way.

Easy to read and set. I have not calibrated it yet, but seems good quality, so I assume it's set properly. No complaints.

Course and find controls make it easy to dial in an accurate value. Only negative is the screen is hard to read from above. I placed the block under the front of it, now it's all good

The reason for the 1 star is that that I would set the supply at a particular voltage limit then short the supply to set the current limit and then apply my load. The supply would supply the current for about 5 seconds then current limit activated and dropped the voltage until I set the current limit about 20ma higher than the limit I initially set. Once I did that it would go back to voltage limiting, but, now at a much higher current limit. Additionally, the current display would then show a ridiculously low load current at the initially set voltage even though the load was seeing the proper current and voltage. It did this with a resistor, a LED and meter load. It just didn't hold the current limit that I initially set. Not much of a power supply

Works ok... the volts tend to sag a lot when under load and tried to use it to charge some Lipo packs but as the current decreases the voltage creeps up and it resulted in a pack swelling but that was anticipated and I think for the money this is a solid unit for diy or home hobby bench

After many years of wanting a variable power supply, I finally decided to get one. This one has only four, simple-to-use dials, two for voltage and two for amperage. The coarse voltage dial ranges from 0-30 volts. The fine voltage dial allows for 2.5 volts of fine tuning. The amperage dial must be set greater than zero in order to set the voltage. Once you connect the power supply to a device, you will be able to gradually turn up the amperage to the level required for your particular device. There is no way to pre-set the amperage level before connecting the leads to a load. Once connected to a load, the voltage appears to show the voltage drop across the load, rather than the voltage being applied to the load, so you will want to set your voltage to the correct value before connecting to a load.In my first photo, I am powering up a small automotive LED light bar.As you can see in my second photo, the voltage readout perfectly matches my multimeter.
