I'm only reviewing the horseshoes themselves (not the bases, which seem to be of questionable quality/durability, and which I'm taking off a star for) because the park next to our house has horseshoe bases built-in, and we just needed something to bring there with us.For that, these are great, being lightweight and easily packable/carriable, with no risk of damaging other things in the bag as metal shoes might. If you're just looking for shoes and are okay with plastic, I strongly recommend.

(Our little girls arenβt big enough for games quite yet.) The two βlittleβ boys (one will be 13 in August) in our immediate family are together on a regular basis at our grandmotherβs house which is in a rural location. Since they spend so much time on screens, I love to get them gifts that they can use together (and with others), outdoors. The past two Christmases, I have gifted them for their birthdays and Christmas both on Christmas - so, essentially, four gifts or the equivalent of four gifts between them (maybe fewer but βbigβ items). This Christmas, they each receive two gifts to open but all four gifts were to be shared between them when at our grandmotherβs house (and the items stay there, too). To add even more fun, I gave them a prize basket (small toys and candy), they get to draw one when they win - but thereβs also a runner up basket (the exact same prizes as the other) so no one feels less than if they donβt win (like I always did with sports as a child). This horseshoe set is very special as their late great-grandfather and late grandfather (1st Christmas without him) used to love to play horseshoes (and did so at large family gatherings). The younger boy is too little to work with real ones and the older one might be tempted to get a little crazy throwing metal ones - so, plastic/rubber for the win! This horseshoe set is a breeze to set up, take down, and use - the kids (and adults!) love it!

This is a kid friendly way to teach them the game of Horseshoes. The quality of the plastic is decent, though not outstanding, but you get some flexibility while maintaining durability as well. Keep in mind that the plastic is hard enough that if someone were to get hit by one it could hurt.I'm recommending indoor use instead of outdoor use because it's difficult to hammer the plastic stake in the ground outside. But having said that, the indoor stake is real easy to knock over. The large rubber part should have been made heavier because the kids get bored with the game when the stake is constantly getting knocked over. Also, when playing indoors, find a large enough space such that something won't get knocked over by a child's wild throw.I must admit the pricing of this product makes it a good value but know that it does have limitations.

I ordered these to play horseshoe with the grandchildren. I was afraid that because they were plastic they might be light and not feel like the horseshoes. They are not as heavy as metal horseshoes but they do have enough weight to be able to throw them and do a good job. I did like them so much that I ordered another set to give to my nephew as he enjoys playing horseshoe. I like that they do have a base that will allow you to use them inside.

This game is a lot of fun. The kids love this thing. Very low price for entertaining.

We just played this for the first time. We played in the house and it's perfect on rainy days.
