I bought these for my kids bike and they are much quieter than the old pads. They are well made and easy to install with the included wrench. Great value.

Works great, they are just like your standard rim brake pads and for me they came fresh and soft so there is no noise when braking. Usually you want to replace brake pads even if there is still more left in them because they harden up and begin to damage the rims. Even if they are still soft, they may have a piece of metal wedged in there so ideally you remove and inspect them and get the pieces of metal out every couple hundred miles. To slow down hardening, don’t store the bike in direct sunlight, and don’t brake hard for long periods of time as that would heat up the brakes a lot.

I'm not an expert rider or bike repair guru (I just learn from tutorial videos), but I can say that these bike pads provide an easy bike repair/maintenance for dramatic improvement to your biking experience. Having new bike pads is always much better than not, so having a cost effective way to replace them is great. This packs has 2 full sets so I can change the brakes on two bikes or one bike twice as often.As shown in the photo, the brake pads are 2.75" long, which is in agreement with the product description and pictures. Interestingly, my bikes only had 2" long brake pads. However, these still fit without any issues. I have 26" tires, but they may also work for a 24". Interestingly, I seem to be able to brake using less gripping force. This could be just because of the new brakes (which is always nicer to have), but I think it is because there is a larger braking area. Durability of the brakes is hard to quantify, but if I brake better with less force, I expect them to last a little longer.One of the photos in the product description is a little unclear about how they should be installed. Instead, I would direct anyone to their favourite video site and search for installation instructions. There are lots of different types of brakes, so to install these ones, you should be looking for a video that teaches you how to install bike brake pads for Rim Brakes and the Threaded Stud kind. There are some really good videos out there that are easy to follow and give good tips to avoid mistakes.

These pads are very large compared to the ones that come on the bikes. I put these on 2 different bikes to compare. They have different squeezing mechanics and there was a big difference for some reason that I just don’t grasp.Easy to install and on the first bike with more modern mechanics they worked extremely well. From what they were, there was a surprised look on the kiddos face when he first tried them. It was a huge difference. They are soft and have a large area making them very effective.On the second bike which is my old one from the mid-late 90’s I think? (fact check me – old CCM bike from Canadian tire I think) anyways, this did not work as well. Although it eliminated the soul crushing screeching that it was producing, the stopping power just wasn’t there like it was on the first bike. Not sure why. I fiddled with that for a while. It is definitely touching the full area on both pads fairly equally. It will slows me down, but I need 80-100 lbs on the handle to really stop. It’s not great. So, I need the front breaks as a primary stopper. It is normally I know that, usually like 65F-35R but it’s now like 95F-5R. I’m fine with that for now as it doesn’t squeak anymore, but I need to get a whole new bike to be honest.Pads performance… The first bike was the primary target and it worked wonderfully. The other bike was an experiment so no real loss or anything. On the newer mechanics, it was a huge difference. I believe that these were meant for this style vs. the older style. Although I’m still confused as to why there was a worse performance (even if it wasn’t actually designed for that style). The compound definitely stopped screeching from the old hard pads. And they are double the area, seriously large. It came with all the stuff required to install and it took 15 minutes total. I feel that 4.5 stars is fair; but I can’t give fractions so I will round up to 5 stars as the value is pretty good here.
