They look great but whatever you blow into them stays on the surface and doesn't get absorbed. Not a pretty sight and still there when you use it again.

Gave them to a clueless 24-year old man, and told him the beauty of a handkerchief. He actually came to me first and asked about handkerchiefs. Anyway, long story, it was right around Christmas, so I gave him this stack of handkerchiefs, freshly washed and ready to go (unironed as I knew he’d never iron them and I didn’t want him put off). He’s carried two every day: one in his front flannel shirt pocket, to share, and one in his pants pocket to use. White handkerchiefs would never work: these are dark, won’t show stains, and more present worthy, fancy, than ye ol’ bandannas.

Some of the colors are softer than others. They all got slightly softer after washing. As others have said, they're on the thin side (which I think handkerchiefs should be) and not the most luxuriously soft things ever. But for the price, I'm happy. The colors are nice, and they didn't get crazy wrinkly (you can't expect pure cotton to come out of the dryer wrinkle-free!) I use them to clean my glasses, so I can't really comment on absorbency.

My grandfather was a handkerchief manufacturer and I feel almost naked if I do not have a clean, neatly folded handkerchief in my pocket. These ones, made in China like much else nowadays, were a very worthwhile buy and I have been carrying two since these arrived, one from my older batch and one of these deeply -tinted ones - you may wonder why, and if you ask me in person, I'll explain.

These handkerchiefs seem to wash well, and are soft cotton. Hard to say how long they'll last, but it looks like they will be fine. I also bought some of the plaid ones. They may be even softer.?? But these are fine.
