This works perfectly to charge my D74 batteries when installed into the radio. Additionally, I an older OEM Kenwood battery would no longer charge using either the Kenwood KSC-25LSK desktop charger, nor the 12v PG-3J adapter. I figured it was dead, but I then tried this USB charging cable and it appears the slower charging rate this cable offers was able to recharge that battery back to 100%. I used it to TX/RX and it now works.I use the PG-3J 12v adapter when I want to TX or RX. This USB charger is ONLY for charging and it is convenient.

I have two of these to charge the radios when i'm away from the auto charger or home base charger. They work just fine. I would not recommend using the radio to transmit while using these though.

I received this adapter charger earlier today and have already charged up the new battery I ordered with it as well as an older one. No problems whatsoever and I look forward to being able to charge my older Kenwood radio via USB rather than a huge wall adapter.

I use this to charge my Kenwood radio while I'm driving in our RV rather than the 120v charger. This way I don't have to turn the inverter in the RV on.

worked like a charm and now i can use my USB chargers in my car instead of having the cig lighter being taken up for a single device.been using daily for about 2 months now and zero problems...also seems to be pretty quite, hard to tell due to all the noise my truck puts out which i think is proof that it's actually quite as i noticed no change and might actually quieter than before.
