These pad heaters rock, I have almost everyone and have them installed on an excavator, backhoe, dumptruck and my toyota tundra. Works flawlessly for a few years now of hard use and cold winters. Previous negative post is user error, probably got the cord too close to the engine and became brittle from heating and cooling.

I mounted this to the lower end of a motorcycle that I drive daily, including winter, in near-freezing temperatures. When near-freezing, I plugged it in overnight. Checked it occasionally with a heat gun - in the hundreds (F), OK. Then, maybe two weeks later, I lightly tugged on the cable to move it out of the way for an oil change - and it broke free. The soldered joints on the pad end came undone. When I say "lightly", I mean lightly. This thing was hanging on by nothing. I'm surprised that my house didn't blow a fuse.
