Quick and easy install, and the range is fantastic. I can go out into the yard and still stay connected. Install was simple in my tower computer. Another review said that it automatically disabled the onboard Bluetooth but I didn't find that. There was a conflict. You may have to go into the Device Manager and right click on the onboard Bluetooth Adapter (mine was the Media Tek) and select disable. Do not uninstall. Then power down the computer, plug in the Adapter and the Real Tek 5.3 Adapter will work. Very happy with the adapter so far. Not sure why it gets poor reviews for breaking easily, once set you shouldn't need to touch it.

I had an old Bluetooth 4.0 Nano USB Adapter and I have been using it with Sony CF-C500 earbuds on the PC. Worked ok, but if I went to the bathroom or kitchen etc it would cut out.I thought I was due an upgrade as tech has progressed and this thing is indeed pretty good. Gets to most rooms in my 2 story house and even pretty far up the road if I have to put the bins out or whatever and forget to take my buds out! Ignore the 180m bit, just know that in a 2 up, 2 down kinda house, it reaches most corners and down the end of the garden :)

I use Arco Linux and this is truly plug-n-play I just plugged it in and it worked I can listen to my Wireless headphones all through out the House I bought one for my son for his desktop PC which runs Arco linux as well and no issues we can walk all over the house and still hear our music. My PC is in the basement and I can go to my room on the top floor and still hear my music. I would recommend the ZEXMTE USB Bluetooth Adapter it works really good. I have had it for over month and waited to do my review just to see how it performs. If anything changes I will update this review.

It is working great, only quibble is that, it doesn't say what to do if you are using this when your PC already has bluetooth in it. You need to go the hardware/devices and disable the built in bluetooth, restart then you can plug-n-play the new device. It also wasn't really clear on how to "scan for new device" One area said scan system and one said scan for new networks. I had to go to system then scan for hardware changes then it worked. That was still better than a competing device I returned that wanted me to download drivers from drop box.Aside from needing a bit more info on set up for all systems it's working great. I think the built in blue tooth was going bad in my pc. I got less and less range and just in the last week it was getting weird breaks, like loud static pop and then reconnecting even right near my PC.Now that I have this I can get signal all over the house again even in opposite far corners with several walls between. I even had clear signal out in the yard. I only lost signal once I got behind a metal shed. It reconnected quickly once back in range as well.So over all I'm very pleased with this. I have much better range and the connection is more stable.Small update: I noticed some issues but uninstalling the internal bluetooth instead of just turning it off, then removing and repairing the devices fixed it. They weren't properly disconnecting because they were paired to both.

This has realtek internals and was detected automatically with Debian Linux, which means it should work fine with any of those variants, including Ubuntu. My guess is that Arch and other major distros should work fine as well. In my case, I am passing it through to a VM running home assistant and it works perfectly with much better reception for the outlying devices on my network than i had with the usual tiny USB dongle.

Installed yesterday. Computer is a new Lenovo laptop (Win 11) that does a decent job broadcasting a bluetooth signal all by itself. That had allowed me to walk through every room in the house with headphones and hear the music. But outside the house was a different story: I was not able to get to the far parts of the yard while doing yard work without the headphones losing the signal from the computer.Enter the ZEXMTE 5.3 Adapter: Extremely easy to install and the range of the signal has allowed me to not only get to the far parts of the yard, but to walk across the street to the neighbor's house and beyond (down a hill) before the signal cuts out. That distance is about the length of a football field (maybe a little more) and the signal from the adapter had to go through a wall in my house to get there.Amazing device for a low, low price!

I found the needed drivers were not included on the usb. Not a deal killer though and I was able to find the needed drivers on their website and install them easily enough. What earns this a one star rating from me is the range. I bought this simply so my Bluetooth headphones (which I use for work) would have a longer range, and I could take calls from other parts of my house. Once installed though the range was no different from that of my laptop. Maybe 25ft max.

I had previously used the 100m dongle from this same company for several years, but lost it and felt like I'd use the opportunity to upgrade. Despite the manufacturer's claims of this being plug-n-play, upon first plug in, this wouldn't properly connect to any of my devices. However, I followed the advice in the manual and updated/restarted my Windows along with removing all my prior Bluetooth devices and it now works really well. I mainly use it for headphones/earbuds and there's a noticeable upgrade in the available range. Though the 180m claim is likely only for perfect conditions, I noticed I was still getting crisp sound even when I had several walls separating me from my computer and went to areas where the 100m dongle would have broken up.

It works well enough for a short term fix while I was troubleshooting some issues with my integrated Bluetooth drivers and hardware, every now and then the connection would go a bit wonky and audio would be heavily distorted. Set up was easy enough I just plugged it into one of my USB 5.3 slots and my system automatically installed the drivers.
