I would not recommend Aluminum for welding if you are a beginner. Using lighter metals is a lot more difficult and needs practice. Definitely think TIG welding is best for this material. It does not change color before becoming molten which is an adjustment as well.It worked out okay, but I just wouldn't purchase or use again.

Welding aluminum is hard! If not for a neighbor of mine that actually knew how to weld aluminum, I would give this product a negative review. To be honest, I would consider myself more of a hobbyist when it comes to welding and while I can get by with MIG and TIG on steel, I had a really bad experience trying to weld Al with this product. Fortunately, my neighbor is an expert welder and was able to show me exactly what I was doing wrong. After that my project turned out great. My advice would be to do some research about welding in general. Learn the proper techniques, get the right equipment, and learn how to properly set it up. Most importantly, learn how to be safe because one can really get hurt with this stuff.
