Ordered 3 of them,First pack had moldy patches and was almost totally brown and had some type of porous rock in it. So I kept what wasn't moldy to try and save what I can from them.Second pack was okay.... I guess... a little brownish even after being soaked but nothing I can't save.⚠️But!⚠️The third bag was a complete disaster!!! Almost all moldy on the underside(what i didn't saw before putting it into my bucket), the water in my bucket became freaking green and the moss itself faded to a faint green/yellowish color! The moss isn't looking like the same type either! (some kind of other moss type in a box of frog moss)Really deceived but for what I was able to save, I just threw the rest to the garbage🤷🏻♀️Will probably just go to my local petstore next time I need to buy mosses, so that way I can make sure it's all good before bringing it home.Was supposed to be for a bumblebee dart frog bioactive pallu but what I saved will stay in an empty tank for a long long time before getting anywhere near one of my pets, I don't want to risk any mold or insects (from what I've seen on other comments) explosion! I hope at least some patch will stay healthy❗️❗️UPDATE❗️❗️I've just found small spiders with crab-like pincers on their two front legs. It was so freaking scary! Dumped the whole batch I ain't breeding no spiders in my house! 😱😭😭😭

I’m not sure what it was because in the moment I was confused but not concerned with what it was but now what I think I found was a reptile egg shell. Nothing was in it because I had grabbed it and rolled it in between my fingers because I was curious and it just rolled up so I tossed it. I don’t even remember which piece of moss it was that was two days ago but I’m hoping and praying nothing happens to my viv. I was so excited because I love moss but realizing what I had found was an EGG SHELL has terrified me to no end. Do not buy. If anything happens I’ll be seeking a refund.

So I originally marked these as five stars because everything seemed as expected. But after having the moss in my terrarium for a couple days, I was horrified this morning to see many very very tiny bugs crawling throughout :( I bought six boxes and used five out of the six. Idk how many boxes were affected or what kinds of bugs these are but I now have the big job of completely dismantling my entire terrarium and sanitizing everything. I’m not sure if these bugs were hatched from eggs that were in the moss or what, I rinsed each piece very carefully before using. Ugh I am so disappointed and upset about this. My frog seems okay, I have put him in a clean tank for the moment. Will be contacting Amazon for a refund after I finish writing this. Buy with caution.

Beautiful green moss! When I first opened the box, the moss looked brown. I rinsed it and soaked - the color is a healthy green! I love this moss and the price is great!

This is thick, looks great, in large pieces to use in cork or any area in our cage! Will definitely be ordering more of this! It is great to hold water add humidity!

This is super soft and ideal for walking surfaces for reptiles or amphibians. I particularly like that it can be rinsed clean several times before new moss is needed. It comes in clumps that can be torn into smaller chunks, but can't be rearranged like sphagnum moss. I use a mix of both in the terrarium for my box turtle hatchling.
