I needed some strong and sturdy upholstery tacks and tried a few others that I wasn’t happy with. Read lots of positive reviews about these tacks and decided to give them a try. They have been the best by far and bonus is that they look great as well... nice “aged” finish that gives a more expensive look than some of the shinier options.

The first time I’ve reupholstered a chair and needed to use tacks to complete the task. I was extremely pleased with the decotacks which completed the job in a professional manner.

We used these to make a King headboard for our RV. These worked great. We needed a light weight headboard to attach to our wall so we used a wall foam insulation sheet and these tacks. Stuck a drop of hot glue to each tip and inserted. Very happy with how our very cheap headboard turned out with these tacks!

If you are a steady hand and ok with time and can not be crooked, these are good. I hammered a few in and they were crooked and I'm a perfectionist so I heard there was a tack strip and got that instead. It worked out better. BUT if you are doing something freehand and like to, these are pretty study etc. They also come in a nice little case and have a measuring tape, which did come in handy. I would recommend them for string art and free hand patterns but I like the strip better for straight lines. I used them to take a cornice board.

I used these for decoration on a metal barn door I am making. They look amazing, easy to use and sturdy. I even weathered them with a bit of acid and they turned out great.

Good tacks. They look good and are sturdy. I used them through multiple layers of leather. The build quality is great. I bent a few, but more my fault with mishits than the tacks. And they are pretty forgiving of mishits. If I catch it early, they can be bent back with a few taps and maintain their strength to be driven the rest of the way in with no issues. Seemed a little pricey. But I don't have much experience, and if that is what it costs for tacks that are functional, sturdy, and good looking, then it is worth it.

I decided to paint the stairs leading down to our newly finished basement. However, there was a gap between the stairs and the wall. Hubby suggested I use metal strapping (the kind used for suspending air conditioning duct work) so I decided to also use these decorative tacks to hold it down. I have to drill a pilot hole in the strapping first because while the tacks are long enough to secure the strapping onto the steps, they are not strong enough to be hammered directly through the stiff metal strapping. I am not done yet, but we like it so I think it was a great choice and time to share. Yeah for teamwork!

After reading the poor reviews for the upholstery tacks available through Home Depot, and having experienced almost half of theirs breaking, I chose decotacks to complete my latest reupholstery project--recovering my great-grandmother's Victorian rocking chair in a tropical print for our tropically inspired music room in our home. I recovered a little stool to match too. The tacks were great! Not one of them broke and they look great. They are holding the upholstery in place with style! I recommend.
