Anchors are made for thicker than typical 1/2 inch drywall material but have two bad quirks. The tabs that dig into the material to stop the anchors from spinning fold over very easily. Great care is needed to make sure that doesn’t happen. The other is the hole size needed is slightly larger than the advertised 1/4 inch. This ensures the section that folds backwards to grab the back side of the material is not inadvertently collapsed slightly. If that happens the anchors don’t fold back but simply twist into a knot and have to be removed and replaced. This action sometimes requires a different anchor due to the hole being enlarged too much.

Needed a solution for mounting a heavy wine storage rack on a sheetrock wall that had a 1/8" thick reclaimed barn wood paneling on it. Because of the longer shank of these anchors they worked great. Be careful to not over tighten them.
