Used with several inexpensive Chinese 2.5/10Gb switches and they just work. Gets super hot but keeps working 2 weeks 24/7 in. Time will tell if they area solid uplink or become the weak link.

I wanted to upgrade my home network to 10gbps, and since I'm not going to run fiber all the way through the house, I needed several of these rj56 modules. This one runs at 10gbps through my cat6 cabling, and I'm quite happy with the performance.Keep in mind, these run quite hot, so make sure there is adequate airflow around the connection. Both my Binardat SFP+ 10gbps managed switch and my Intel 82599ES pcie card recognized this module without issue.

I use it to connect 2.5g ethernet node to 10g sfp+ port and even in this asymmetric scenario it works perfectly. It negotiates as 10g on switch side and 2.5g on ethernet without any issues.In my case with 2.5g copper side, any high traffic hitting from 10g switch side will saturate the link and max performance will drop to around 1gbps. To handle this, DON'T FORGET to enable flow control for the switch port.With flow control enabled, it does 2.5gbps both directions without any issues.

If your device isn't needlessly picky about transceivers, these work great for what they're listed for. They don't get any hotter than any other 10gbe transceivers.
