Ive used these inserts for over 6 months now. Just had to finally replace my first one. They dont look like whats in the picture but it does break chips ok, it cuts a nice smooth cut @ 4 thousandths depth per pass.

I installed one of these on my small lathe and made some test cuts on several materials. It worked fine on plastic (delrin and PVC), aluminum (6061), brass (probably 260), mild steel (1081, 12L15, annealed O1 drill rod), and on stainless steel (grade unknown). I tried a few hardened materials and found the performance less agreeable. The chips on 6061 are long and stringy, but that's not unique to this insert... seems to be quite common on 6061.Overall... these are fine. They don't match what's in the picture, and there is no chipbreaker, but they work okay.What can you say? it's a screw-mount insert with a steep rake that costs $2.50. It's not good for hardened materials, but it's fine for light work.

These cut very well. These are way better than the inserts that came on my cheap Chinese holders when I bought them. Not only do they cut better, but they last longer too. I don't have any reason to not recommend these and I'll probably be a repeat customer.
