For the price, this monocular isn't too bad. I wear glasses, so I prefer a bit more eye relief than these offer. I'm going to estimate somewhere around 17-18mm. Which, of course, is actually a lot for most people. I can only compare them to my Vortex Solo, which is certainly a higher build quality with better glass. It's one I take with me hunting.Something like this is too large to slip into a pouch on your backpack, but may be perfect for spotting in your back yard. Overall, not much to complain about here. Good, clear image. Lots of adjustability, and more than enough eye relief for most. As long as you don't mind a bit of bulk and a slight rattle.

If you're accustomed to average binoculars (typically in the 7X to 12X range) then this monocular will astound you! I took it out on a sturdy tripod (the little tripod that it came with is not useful under most circumstances) and watched for birds of prey and other wildlife (we live a few blocks from two major rivers) for a while. Although there were plenty of visitors (primarily raptors, deer and a fox, I think) to the small uninhabited islands in the middle of the river, some for play, most for fish from the rivers, it was extremely difficult to hold them in the viewing field of the instrument. Focusing on distant landmarks (they didn't move) was a bit easier! But I found that, while the objective lens was very large (50mm) and bright (good true colors) the ocular was not easy to hold on my prey, even if it didn't move. Working comfortably with a 30X instrument is not easy. I think this well-made and very powerful monocular is best used in the hands of one accustomed to observing the static world through a telescope at great distances! I may need to study and practice more but I think it's going to take some getting-used-to for a while!
