The throughput of these 10GBASE-T SFP+ modules, using certified Cat-7 cables, was actually less than that of a vanilla 1GBASE-T interface using the same cables. It was a miracle of poor engineering!Purchased these to connect an 8-bay Qnap NAS to a Unifi USW-Pro-24 switch via one of the switch's 10Gbps SFP+ ports, instead of 1GBASE-T. The switch recognized the SFP module without any issues, so that was a good start (and, ultimately, the sole highlight of using these.) But, when doing some testing transfer rates to the NAS, we saw a 45-50% decrease in throughput when using these modules over certified Cat-7 cables. Transfer rates dropped from ~110MB/s using 1GBASE-T, to ~50MB/s using these SFP+ modules using the same Cat-7 cables. Needless to say, they went back for an exchange. The replacement set exhibited the same exact throughput issue, so those went back as well.

Refuses to negotiate with Xfinity 2.4gb port, or any 2.5gb port consistently. You have to do a rain dance and plug things in at specific timing to get it to work only for it to drop back to 1gb by the next day.

I tested the transceiver in various SFP+ ports (NICs and switches) and connected it to 1Gb, 2.5Gb, and 10Gb (I don’t have any 5Gb equipment for testing).Even though the transceiver correctly links at those different speeds, the reported speed is always 10Gb.However, I confirmed the expected throughput rates using iperf3.

The 10G SFP+ to RJ-45 Transceiver, 1.25/2.5/5/10G-T Copper SFP+ CAT6a Module exceeded my expectations, delivering reliable performance without any issues. It was easy to install and worked seamlessly in my setup, handling speeds up to 10G without a hitch. The build quality felt solid, and its performance was indistinguishable from a comparable TP-Link module I’ve used in the past—except this one comes at a fraction of the price. Connected to the 10G port on the switch and it connected within seconds. Ran it to ro 10GB port on the NAS , and it works well , faster speed than before with the 2 - 2.5GB port connected. Will be buying 2 more to extend the network.
