This is not really a wick. It is clothes line and burns out in under 5 minutes. If you buy it, buy a thickness wider than the hole it will go through. Better to not buy it.

I ordered so many small rope wicks, but none, not even 3 mm wicks fit in my miniature oil lamp. So, this 2 mm wick works great. I tried a 2.6 mm wick, but it was no thicker than this one and it was a smaller amount. It burns slowly, making this a very economical way to have light in a power outtage. If you need a brighter light, of course you can use a regular size lamp and full size wick.

My error this time, I ordered the wrong size, but since I had sniffed a piece off to take it to the hardware store to see if I could get a different week to fit my hurricane lamp, I decided to just give it to my uncle for his yard sale. So I will either get a brand new hurricane lamp or hopefully get the next smallest size from Amazon.
