Perfect for the DIY guy, great fit, great price. I recommend replacing both at same time, then you'll be good to go for many years of summers.

Parts that get a lot of use don't last forever. And when the self-propel cable on a walk-behind lawn mower brake, it is real nuisance. And the grass keeps growing while you take it to the repair shop. My Toro Recycler 22-inch mower (Model 20378) has been reliable, but the Z-attachment for the self-propel cable breaks every few years. The Gearlinton 119-2379 is a perfect replacement part. Pay attention to how things go together as you start taking things apart. The Toro manual is good. And, of course, YouTube. Common sense, a few common tools, and some contemplation of the problem are all you need. Not everything is intuitive. I suspect the guys at the repair shop can do this job in,10 minutes. I managed it in ~30 minutes. After installation and a little adjustment of the cable tension, I was back in business. Just follow the Operator's Manual!

So glad I bought the part and did it myself instead of paying $100+ for something so simple. Hardest part was wondering how I could work easily under the mower. Someone on another site said he put the mower handle under the hitch on his vehicle to hold the mover tilted back. That worked perfectly. Part fit perfectly.
