Volume and tone control are handy...new to me so I will have to work with both for sound quality.

Unit was DOA and really cheaply built. The metal thingies that are meant to clamp into the sound hole were immovable and make it easy to damage your guitar because you have to kinda jam it in there. Promptly sent it back.

Was a bit tricky to install but with a little patience and some tweaking here and there I got it secured. Sounds pretty good for a $20 pick up.

My strings are grounded, and I ran a wire to the ground on it, nothing, tapping it with metal dose get a bit form it. I, was going to use a three way switch to use it with a Peizeo pickup going to try a few thing to get it working. i did get it working, cut top open it works way better it's a single pickup with it open there is a nonmagnetic screen covering the magnetic core so it pickup form bass strings way better, I plan to mount the the Volume and tone in body with the three way switch. I did get it form the mail man He knows me.

This pick up is very good sounding with no preamp or booster. Strings sound even and very good tone. Volume control is a plus. Very easy to install. Try it out.

With tone at 0, my acoustic sounds great coming out of an acoustic amp, which for me, is more than enough. I like the tone of it without the tone knob moved up at all, and install was easy (even though there were no instructions). However, should you want to change the tone knob (on the one I got, at least), a lot of buzzing/faint squealing is added. Additionally, the volume knob does nothing. Again, on mine, it's just an on off switch. It's either off, or full volume. There's no variance in volume by changing the volume knob. The tone knob does change the tone, but like I said, adds an obvious, and loud buzzing that doesn't go away anytime the tone knob is anywhere but all the way off.I say many times in this review 'on the one I got' just to express that mine could just not work properly. It still amplifies my acoustic and is usable though, but if changing the tonal qualities, or changing the volume to anything but on/off is something you're looking for, a heads up that it's possible it won't work, as mine does not.Another slight complaint would be that they should have just made this with a quarter inch jack instead of a 3.5mm jack. They provide a (short) cable, but it'd be nicer to use my own cables I already have with it. But that's just a mild inconvenience, especially considering an okay length cable with 3.5mm to quarter inch was provided. Using a 3.5mm to quarter inch female cable would probably be nicer.Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend this if you don't mind having to change the volume on your amp and not having any way to vary the tone. My other acoustic electric guitar has no tonal knob/volume control either (no preamp), so I don't mind.
