Your cart is empty.Carriage bolts are desgined with a big smooth round domed head and a square neck underneath the head. The big head helps eliminate the need for a washer and the square neck is self locking to eliminate spinning and the need for a driving tool. Carriage bolts are commonly used to fasten a wooden part to either wood or metal frame. 3 of them seized the first time they were torqued to normal torque for a bolt that size. I used them for a bracket on a Auto Swing Gate opener, tighted them once, and had to cut them off because they wouldn't loosen, even with the bolt was spinning freely, still couldn't get the nut to turn on the bolt ever again.

2 out of 6 bolts have defective threads.....when nuts are screwed on, they lock up around 1 inch, and seized so bad it will not come apart again. Very frustrating! Had to hacksaw the bolts off so I could replace them with legitimate bolts. I realize carriage bolts are unique somewhat, and these are stainless steel....but that's no excuse. If there was a way to contact the seller, I would....but apparently this is my only recourse. This was a package of 6, 3/8-16 x 4-1/2" stainless steel carriage bolts with washers, and nuts in one package.
