I had to install a TV wall mount and my drill couldn't quite reach through so I ended up purchasing these. Used them with my 1/2" impact driver and they stood up to the torque with no problem. Great for driving bolts or loosening buts in hard to reach places. They seem unbelievably strong to me -- happy to add them to my toolbox.

I've used these to break nuts on larger bolts and they're very sturdy.

This 1/2" drive set of extensions comes in a couple of configurations. I was sent the U-joint plus 5" plus 10" extensions. Material quality of steel looks mostly good. The pieces are phosphate coated on all surfaces.I can see some chapping on female end and some sag on male end, indicating not a super top quality casting. I do not recommend these for a full time mechanic. But for those of us doing vehicle work a couple of weekends a month or less, and working with 400 or less ft/lbs, I doubt these will fail soon. So on a cost to materials/workmanship I would say these are a very good value.Action of universal feels good, neither too loose nor too tight.A ball type retainer is present on each male end and dimple that you can see through to confirm seating of ball on female. it came with convenient plastic holder. Not sure I care about etched lengths. I care about being able to see size of sockets, but I have always just eyeballed extensions.On a price to quality and utility basis, these are a good value.
