I would never suggest using these for anything that you're going to use on a daily basis because I do not believe they will hold up. They are pretty inexpensively made and the very first one I took out of the bag to look at part of it fell apart in my hand before even soldering a lead on. I was just pressing the button in and out. If this is for something you will use on occasion I think it would be okay but if it's for something you're going to use everyday I would recommend searching for a different brand or you may be replacing them pretty quickly. I would never use these anywhere somebody could get potentially injured in the event the switch fails.

Excellent quality for being so cheap. There's not much room for error in mounting hole size. There is a 12.4 mm drill bit available on Amazon, but it costs over $7 for ONE bit. Plus another $7 shipping, of you really want it that bad. But seriously, who is going to have exactly 12.4 mm drill bit for anything else bu these buttons?

I have a rather expensive "Led Lenser" brand flashlight that I've had for sometime, and kept it in my pickup for light when needed. The batteries in it (major name-brand) leaked and the acid damaged the switch in the end of the flashlight so that it wouldn't work. As stated, I consider this flashlight to be expensive (current closest model to mine is the Led Lenser TT, $50, and to me that's expensive, also I paid more back when I bought mine), so I intended to order the necessary parts, but the manufacturer doesn't make parts available. They require the flashlight be sent in for repair. My flashlight is out of warranty, and searching online found many others have had this same problem and the ones that sent theirs in for repair were notified of a repair cost exceeding the price/value of the flashlight. This was a disagreeable situation, as the flashlight is fully machined aluminum, extremely bright, rugged (they are sold to police and fire depts.) and light weight. The acid destroyed the original switch, but in researching available push-on/push-off switches I found these 12mm ones from Cylewet. Measuring the working spaces of the flashlight and checking what specs were available on the switches, I took a chance and ordered them. Low-and-behold the physical dimensions and style of install (threaded nut) turned out to be a perfect fit for the end cap of my Led Lenser. These switches were not a direct drop-in replacement, though. I had to remove the old switch from the end of the battery carrier, and then solder 2 hook-up wires from the carrier to the switch's leads. The trickiest part came when time to replace the end cap back on the flashlight, as it threads on a number of turns, causing the 2 lead wires to twist. To avoid twisting the wires and breaking them off of their solder points, I had to "pre-twist" the end cap in the opposite direction a number of turns before threading it back on the barrel of the flashlight. Long story, I know, but here's what it comes down to: These inexpensive, but fine quality switches work perfectly on my flashlight. They made it possible to avoid throwing an otherwise perfectly good, professional quality flashlight into a land-fill because the manufacturer won't make a $5, easily-replaceable-by-the owner part, available. These fine little switches' specs will allow them to be used in a number of things, from like my flashlight to possible AC switch applications. They have an excellent price and work smoothly and with a clear, but light-weight feel so that you can feel them turn-on and off. Also, you get 12 of them, so you'll have a lot of spares for whatever. I highly recommend them for any projects that their specs will meet.
