The most important security features of a lock are its strength (i.e. chain thickness) and material (i.e. hardness of chain). In general: the more massive, the more secure. This means that the strength of the chain is an important security feature of a lock. With its 13 mm thick chain and a 16 mm strong lock shackle, the Alcatraz chain lock offers maximum security – approved by Sold Secure with the highest security level DIAMOND.
Large chain length for easy & secure locking
The longer a lock, the easier is the locking to a fixed object. Thus, also the length of the chain is an important security feature. The KOHLBURG lock has a very flexible length of 60” / 150 cm (140 cm chain + 6 cm chain ring + 4 cm padlock), which allows hassle-free locking even to very wide objects like street lamps or trees.
Extremely hard steel
The chain and the lock shackle are made of extra-hardened Maganese-Chromium steel. Thus, both chain and padlock offer a very high level of protection. In addition, to protect against lock-picking and drilling, a multi-disc lock cylinder + anti-drilling plate are integrated inside the padlock.

No compromises on safety. For maximum protection, the most important thing is massiveness - there is simply no shortcut. Thus, as a high security lock, the chain lock has a massive weight of 6 kg / 13 lbs. This weight is no problem for motorized two-wheelers, but it can be a challenge to carry along with bicycles. If you want to use the lock for a bicycle, we recommend to store the lock at a fixed place (lamppost in front of the house, bicycle stand at the office, ...).

Ich bin mit dem Schloß sehr zufrieden. Es ist gut verarbeitet und wirkt zumindest relativ sicher. Die 150cm sollten es auch sein damit man nicht an einer dickeren Laterne scheitert. Was das Gewicht betrifft: Ich lege die Kette einfach hinten in den Fahrradkorb und merke dann nichts mehr davon. Wenn man ein modernes teures E-Bike mit starkem Motor fährt, dann sollte und muß man nicht auf eine schwerere Kette verzichten.Klare Kaufempfehlung für alle die körperlich keine Probleme haben mit einer sieben KG-Kombi zu hantieren.

My neighbor witnessed three big dudes with a van messing with this lock on my Honda Navi. It was parked on the streets of LA overnight; they obviously considered stealing my bike but didn't most likely due to this lock. I also had a cheap lock on the rear wheel and a 110 db alarm. Cheaper than comprehensive insurance, I highly recommend for cheap motorcycles like the Navi. If it were a more expensive bike I'm sure it would be worth it for them to go through a couple angle grinder discs.

I love this lock for my motor scooter. It's intimidating, very heavy, long, with huge faceted links in a noose formation, and a Safe Secure rating of Diamond. If I were a thief, I'd take one look and think, "Not worth the trouble."The length allows me to lace through my front tire, around the iron stair post, back through the tire, and I then put the U of the lock around the fork -- locking not just through the wheel, but to the wheel itself. While I still use other theft deterrents (throttle lock, another chain lock, and an alarm/wheel lock), with the Kohlburg I feel more sure than ever that my motor scooter is safe.I don't carry it with me, I leave it wrapped around the post where I park, and rely on my back-ups when out and about, so the weight isn't an issue for me.I live in intown Atlanta, and have had three motor scooters stolen over the years. They won't get this one!

カブプロ用に購入。前カゴに入れているので持ち運びもできるが、普通の二輪だと持ち運びは、なかなか厳しいかと。チェーンの太さは1.5cm程で、強度は不明だが、切ろうとする意思は削げると思います。U字部分の耐久性は分からないが、某国製品よりは信用できると信じたい。画像は鍵が三つだが、商品は鍵が4つ入っていました。また、商品には手書きの割と長め文章でお手紙も同封されており、販売者様の誠意も感じることが出来た。が、購入して受け取りまでの2日ほどの間に値下がりしてしまったので星マイナス1⋯。

This chain and lock are beyond compare. The sheer weight and appearance will surely make a thief look for easier pickings. It would take an angle grinder along with great determination and quite a bit of time to defeat either the chain or lock. Very impressive!

Bought this to secure my expensive, new hunting Ebike which weighs almost 100lbs! This truly massive lock is a little excessive to use everyday as I live in a rural area and will only leave my bike unattended in town for short periods. But if I'm going to park it in the back-country for hours on end while camping or while scouting deer or elk, I will definitely use this lock. I'll also use it to secure my expensive portable generator because due to its size and weight this is more appropriate as a stationary lock.

Very VERY sturdy!! Used it for my e-bike and haven’t had a problem with theft so far!! I live in a high door traffic area and no problems yet. Will purchase another one for my 2nd e-bike.

Vol de Vélo électrique récurrent (je suis à 2) malgré des bonnes chaînes. Depuis que j’ai celle ci bien que lourde et encombrante le job est fait. Mettre un petit manchon de protection sur le cadre afin de ne pas abîmer la peinture et le tour est joué. Pour l’instant c’est vraiment extrêmement dissuasif.👍👍👍.

This is one solid chain that will make thieves think twice to go after your items and look for something easier to take.I’ll use it to secure my e bike or generator to my travel trailer. I have other security items in my bike, hopefully the combination of all will avoid the bike to be stolen . This item is from a German company but manufactured in Taiwan. I’m surprised not to see many reviews from the US yet, it really is a very good quality item, I do recommend it

Got this behemoth chain to lock up my ebike when I am on the road. Super heavy duty. The only issue I have is that it weighs a ton to carry in a back pack. But hey you can bet ur ebike will be where u left it when u get back if u use this monster chain!!!!!
