I was excited to see this kind of paper in a smaller size. I have a huge roll of butcher paper in my garage. It isn't easy to spread out and cut because of how tall and heavy the roll is. The size of this one is great, easy to work with, and nice to use. I have also used cardboard, newspapers and paper grocery bags. This is thinner than cardboard, so don't expect miracles. But you can use this to cover up cardboard, or layer a skinny bed. You may need to double or triple it if you don't use cardboard underneath it.

As one of the other reviewers mentioned, this is indeed a roll of basic kraft paper. It is on the pricey side. I will say though, it's held up pretty well in my greenhouse. I thought it would disintegrate on the very first watering, but it's been over a month and still retaining its composure. No weeds have come through! It definitely works. I love the fact that it is biodegradable!

I hate weeding. Enough so that I have plastic woven "fabric" in the paths of my garden. And while I could use the same landscaping fabric in the garden bed, I prefer not to. This paper barrier will work perfectly to prevent weeds from growing most of the season and won't need to be removed at the end. Nothing else to send to the landfill.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I needed a weed barrier for under a raised deck and this is going to be perfect. It is a very heavy weight and since my area is long and narrow the 1.3' x 49' will make it easy to place down and cut to size. I love that it is biodegradable and will be more aesthetic than the cardboard I have been using. I think it will be easier to work with as well. I can not comment on how long it lasts or takes to breakdown though as it's January and I won't be using it until spring, but I'm very excited about trying this under the deck and if it works really well I'll probably try it in my raised bed as well. I limited the review to 4 stars only because I don't know without question how it will biodegrade.

I use paper mulches a lot when gardening and really like the thickness of this craft paper. It has the weight of a standard paper grocery bag and is easy to roll out & cut to the desired length. It's a good value for a 50 foot roll.

Paper weed barriers are my favorite medium to place under woodchips and hay to let the weeds know who's boss. This roll provides a generous amount of square footage for the price. No plastic, no toxins, just simple weed suppression that lasts the whole season long, hooray. I'll be ordering several more of these rolls for my fruit trees and shrubs, plus my veggies and flowers this season as well. I place chicken wire or left-over trellis fencing over the top of the mulch layer to prevent the chickens from obliterating the weed barrier. Works like a charm!

This is literally just a roll of kraft paper, only at 2-3 times the price. I thought it might have some kind of coating, but no, it's just craft paper. The fact that they don't have any actual pictures of it in use, just stuff photoshopped together, including one with a fake, plastic plant, should have tipped me off. As soon as it rains heavily, this stuff is gonna be gone. I'm still going to try it out to see how long it actually lasts, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I know you can use cardboard to block weeds, but this isn't nearly as thick. It's been a pretty dry winter, so who knows. Regardless, if it does work, it's still cheaper to just buy a roll of kraft paper that knows it's kraft paper.
