No me gusto q hice el pedido x 4 brocas de diferentes medidas, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 1/2, la 1/4 no me yego, en su lugar , me mandaron 2 de 3/8 fue algo molesto pues keria el juego completo, y la verdad frustrado pues kice ahorrarme todo el proceso de devolución y decidi kedarme con las piezas que me yegaron , mal x Amazon estados unidos! Aparte las brocas no vienen afiladas , tienes que dedicarle algo de tiempo para obtener un buen filo y eliminar todas las rebadas!

Very rough machining. Need to smooth and flatten it on stones. Also needed to purchase a conical sharpening set to sharpen the inside. I'll buy a better brand next time.

This 1/4 inch mortise machine chisel is perfectly designed. The "kerf" or slot that allows the chips created by the drill has plenty of room to allow the chips to escape. Keeps the bit cooler and therefore cuts more cleanly. After trying 3 or 4 other brands, this one is a keeper.

This chisel WILL NOT FIT a POWERMATIC mortiser. The shank on the auger is too short. Also, the exterior of the chisel is very crudely finished. It would take much lapping to get it smooth but it could be done. All depends on how much time you want to spend.

Have used other brands cheaper but these last the best and do a good job. Sharpening is a breeze and since I need to do hundreds of mortise joints it pays to use the best.

Performed as expected for a 1/4" mortise drill and chisel. Drilled 28 1/4 x 1 mortise holes in oak without issue. You have to realize that you can't just force this size drill and chisel, if you do you will clog it up with chips. Take the first plunge in short strokes, after that you be a little more aggressive.

Most of the chisel and bit sets in this price range are very similar, but this one seems to have a slightly beefier drill bit. I don't know if that's bad because of reduced chip clearance or if it's good because it's stronger. It is just like the one that came with my mortiser, and I did manage to break that one cutting mortises in white oak when I hit some wild grain, but I think that would have happened to any 1/4" bit. I do like the price.
