It grabs maybe 3 threads before binding up. Do not buy for a DeWalt router

...but at some point I will! And when I do, I'm going to need it right now. These collets are a perfect fit for my BOSCH 1617EVS router. If it goes down, I'm dead in the water until I can get a replacement sent to me. For short money, this gives me peace of mind.

Perfect replacement for lost collet. Retailers don't carry replacements & specs are hard to find. Mastercraft uses same collets a Dewalt full size routers. Delivery time was fine.

I obtained these to add to my router kit for 1/4" shank bits. These appear to be comparable to the OEM collet and nut, with a few minor differences. These won't fit the OEM 19mm/22mm wrench since the nut is slightly wider. A 24mm wrench will be needed for these. The thread engagement is about half of the OEM, at about 2.5 rotations to finger tight and another 1/2 rotation to fully tighten, whereas the OEM nut is about 5.5 rotations and 1/2 rotation, respectively. The collet sticks out about 2mm further than the nut, instead of being flush like the OEM collet and nut. In testing this collet, I saw no wobble issues and it performed fine.Overall, I am satisfied that this will do a good job and last a long time.
