These adapters fit in my 1/4 in. collets so I can use 1/8 in. bits. They are balanced and made well so there is no extra vibration. I'm glad to have more than 1 because I have back-up in case I lose one or two. I also am leaving one on my 1/8 in. bit so it's ready to go into the collet.

When you have a 1/4" collet on your router and some router bits with 1/8" shanks, these thingies are what you need. They seem well made and precise, and they're cheap enough so that you could get a bunch and dedicate one to each of your commonly-used 1/8" bits. I do this, using a drop of CA glue to stick the adaptor to the bit.
