Razor sharp edges all around left over from manufacturing process. Had to deburr myself to preventinjury.

The complaints about sharp edges are certainly true. I consider it a non problem for the very reasonable price. A few minutes with a file and the edges were safe. The very high polish is a real plus. Ash doesn't stick to it.

won't rust like iron shovels, looks good. handle is a bit short but does fit in the stove box more easily

Sturdy, basic, no frills shovel. Great for cleaning the grill ashes. The edges are a bit sharp from the metal stamping process. The sharp parts can be knocked down easily with your basic metal file.

Strong, effective, rust proof. A good feature is that you could easily add a wooden handle to it. I've not yet but plan to. The only drawback is, as others have mentioned, is that some edges can be quite sharp and dangerous right out of the box. I used a simple flat file, and a round chainsaw file to remove those burrs. Now this shovel is perfect !

Like others- sharp edges. Don't say to yourself "Oh, I will just be careful"- long term you will forget. Put on gloves, open up package, deburr edges ASAP.In fairness I suspect this product should not be sold to average consumers- most folks will not fix the sharp edges and are likely to hurt themselves in the long run. Deburring at the factory is a standard practice for safety.. adds a few $ to cost, but this is otherwise an EXCELLENT little shovel. I would pay another $3-4 for a stainless shovel this thick.I took to garage and hit all sharp edges immediately with a file, then touched up with dremel sanding drum. This is nice stainless steel, but when stamped out the edges get really hard and sharp.Once deburred/edges rounded a bit I am extremely pleased.
