Buyer beware> There is no approval ever done on this switch. The "label" on the side is ONLY for one single part of it. UL 1008 is the only approval for transfer switches. Any approved company gets inspected and product tested every 3 months. There is no overseas approval for transfer switches. They do not know about the NEC and no inspector or insurance company will approve this for installation. There are several companies selling the same unit.

The product seems to be made well and should stand up over time. The reason for the 4 stars is no wire nuts included even though it states they do, leads could be longer and the directions should include a wiring diagram .

I was looking for a good relatively cheap option to keep my boiler and water circulation pump running if power goes out. It is designed to safely isolate generator power from grid power. The last time I tried to find something like this, the price was over $100 dollars. This was a great find, it is solidly built and is easy to install. Note: this is limited to 15 amps. Many whole house heating systems use more than 15 amps.

This is great for a single circuit you need to transfer over to backup power without installing a whole house transfer switch. The wires were clearly labeled and outside of them being a little long for the enclosure, everything worked very well. The unit does not come with wire nuts so you will need to have at least 5 of them ready. This has a 2 pole 3 position switch with Line, Off, and Generator options for feeding the circuit it goes to. This means it separates both line and neutral from the circuit while still allowing ground to be shared. I believe this means it will require a bonded generator as your neutral and ground wires will be separated when switched to the generator input but thats easily taken care of with a bonding plug. The green light is super useful when on inverter power because you might not (should not) have lights on the heating circuit and its a quick verification that you are getting power to whatever circuit you are feeding.

The instructions were confusing !I figured it out myself by metering the wires myself using the continuity setting on my VOM Meter and made my own wire diagram

While going without power for a couple weeks after Hurricane Helene, I am upgrading my preparedness with this transfer switch. I already had a four circuit manual switch which covered basic lighting, fridge, and a chest freezer. I found we really missed the microwave (and coffee maker!), so this switch covers those items. I won’t be able to use them at the same time, but that’s fine. This is a high quality unit and is easy to install if you have some basic electrical wherewithal.

This item is listed. The knockouts are for 3/4" fittings instead of the expected 1/2".

This transfer switch is a solid choice for anyone looking to easily switch between generator and house power. It's not automatic, which means you do need to switch it manually, but it comes with a handy green light indicator to show when the generator is powered up, so there's no risk of switching over too soon. The 15A breaker reset button is conveniently placed right on the front, making resets a breeze. The build quality is impressive; it's very sturdy and even comes with pre-cut holes for conduit, which is a thoughtful touch. Plus, it's not just functional; it looks pretty good too. All in all, a great find for the price.
