This is plastic. I was able to hang where i needed but it is extremely thin. Cracked in a couple of spots when putting up. Wish the screw holes were smaller…had to use washers in order to hold in place. Solves the problem of having access to plumbing but wanted it to be slightly sturdier.

The panel worked great.iI had removed an old intercom box from the wall and tied off the live wire in a small junction box. To keep future options open - maybe installing some hi-tech equipment some day, I elected to use the panel. It wasnt difficult to install, made sure the opening size fitted the dimension of the frame - a little bit of trimming of the wallboard needed, then used construction adhesive to mount the frame. Once dry the hatch mounted easily onto the frame. To make it more visually appealing I mounted a white board over the panel and it turned an eyesore in the kitchen to a useful and pleasant looking tool very pleased with how the panel worked
