I got this for my sap boiler. It has a pre heat tank that i was having to manually drain in the boiler when it was getting low. I installed this, and now i can fill the pre heat tank, and not babysit the boiler near as much. This allows the pre heat to drain into the boiler as the water evaporates.

This device consists of two main parts: a stainless steel float/ball and a brass control fitting. The fitting connects to your water supply via a standard NPT garden hose. Leave the water ON for the device to work! The instructions kind of suck,for which I deducted one star. You set/attach the brass fitting to the top edge of the pool. Attach the float bar to the fitting, then adjust the float to turn the water on whenever evaporation leaves too little water in the pool. Why bother? I've found the pump running dry when evaporation left the pool water too low to enter the skimmer. That's critical because your pump's impeller will be ruined if the pump runs dry! That's happened to me a few times, and it is hard to remember to check the water level. With this device, I don't have to remember!
