Only problem with this switch was that the screw would not go into the aluminum support. I think someone thought that the screw would be self-tapping. Nope.I tapped the hole to 6-32 and used a 6-32 screw since the original screw threads were now messed up.Then everything was fine.Original spring had rusted and broken off. I hope this one is stainless steel.

I hope this helps someone in the future. My original Genie opener recently failed. It was probably about 25 years old and had operated flawlessly. Instead of getting a whole new opener package installed for around $1400, I opted for a replacement motor I found on eBay for less than $200. Take note: it was a different model number than the original. But according to the research I did it was compatible with the screw drive set up already in place. After replacing the unit I was having all kinds of trouble getting it to work properly. It turned out the original limiting switches were not compatible with the new unit. Installed the new ones and it's working perfectly now.

This sensor fit perfectly over my old Genie rail. I was worried it wouldn't fit, but we perfect. In fast, the screw was on the other side making it easier install than the old one! I bought a few extra assuming my other sensors would brake soon! Great purchase!

There's nothing special about these except that it's what you need. Like the one you're replacing these aren't going to wow you with craftsmanship but it gets the job done and they were easy to install.
