I use white noise or soft music to help me fall asleep, but I can't play it from a speaker and ear buds don't let me sleep on my side, which is my preferred position. This little speaker is perfect for me! The speaker is hard plastic so it won't work too well with a very thin pillow, but it does work with my thicker one. I do have to turn the volume up a bit on my MP3 player, but with this speaker under a pillow it cannot be heard. If you're trying to catch musical nuances or every lyric this is not going to work, but for general sounds and especially white noise, this is perfect. And you get TWO at this price! Love it!
