I used one of these rubber foam pads to replace the sanding pad backing of an older Craftsman sander, since the original pads are no longer available. The pad itself is just the rubber foam backing with an adhesive that sticks to the plastic pad after the original worn out foam pad is removed (Removing the worn out pad is a task because of the adhesive used to hold it on). Once the original foam pad is removed, this replacement rubber foam pad is easily attached to the plastic base, and is resizable with ordinary scissors, if necessary. Note that there are screws that are hidden under the original rubber foam and that hold the plastic pad to the sander!

They are labeled 4.5x4.3. Actual size is 3 15/16 X 4 3/8Thus too small for my sander. Will return
