product is damaged. control knob wont turn completely. side of unit is pushed in. some of the heat fins are bent. control knob is cock eyed. i will return.

This product is dangerous. To start off with the power cord is not properly secured to the chassis so there is no strain relief. The "strain relief" was a pair of grommets that were super glued to eachother and the power cord.The chassis is not grounded as it should be because it also is not double insulated.I also found cold solder joints inside the unit and melted/damaged insulation on several of the wires.The transformer itself is undersized for the advertised power rating.Conductors in the power cord are smaller than 18AWG which should not be used for more than 10A(1200W).Last but not least the fuse holder is only rated for 15A and they installed a 20A fuse.The only part on this unit that is actually rated properly is the power switch.As a side note, the packaging that it came in was completely inadequate and I had to send the first one back because it was too badly damaged.
