This is a great tool for getting shower cartridges out of the wall. It keeps you from damaging the pipes and makes it easy to remove a stuck cartridge.

I have not installed these yet, but when comparing to the stem that came out of my posi-temp assembly, they seem to be an exact fit. If it does not work for some odd reason, I will update my review here.

This feels like a very solidly made, precise tool, well made with good weight. They did not skimp on the materials for this, the tool is solid. So I was very optimistic that it would help make redoing the bathroom much easier. It worked on a 1220 cartridge, but needed quite a bit of finessing, straddle the outer valve body instead of following the instructions. Reading experiences of other people online, I was extremely careful not to force anything, it did feel like the screw could break if too much pressure was applied wrong. And I'm not sure why it says two pack, as the box only has one tool, plus cartridge and lubricant. Considering the price, this is hard to recommend over simpler, but easier tools.

This product should not be sold. It has not been manufactured incorrectly, and the valve is too big to fit into the insertion area. It went in about 3/4 inch, no further. Went to Home Depot and bought the same product and it was able to insert properly.
