This portable battery pump for gas is suitable for 3 to 20 gallon gasoline cans, oil drums, barrels, etc. The diameter of the gasoline drum mouth is greater than 4 cm. (Corrosive liquids cannot be transported).

I have a Can-Am Spyder with the fuel cap under the trike seat (which doesn’t open very far). I have tried filling it with 5 gallon fuel cans and the ridiculous “environmentally friendly” hoses that are woefully too short and requires additional manipulation to get the gas flowing. This pump works great to get all the gas from the can into my scoot without any spills. I’m using the two D cell option instead of the six AA batteries and the flow rate is fine. Not sure how long the batteries will last, but they aren’t expensive to replace. I would definitely recommend to anyone who doesn’t want to wrestle with a full 5 gallon gas can. If I were to make a manufacturing recommendation, I’d ask for a thinner end that goes into the can - this pump won’t fit inside a DEF container which is why I initially got this pump.

Just like most items on Amazon nowadays, this is a very poor quality product from one of the thousands of no-name Chinese companies. The electrical contacts are loose and fell apart. I had to have the battery compartment partially unscrewed and loose for it to actually turn on. I got through two 5 gallon buckets before it died and now I can't get it to run again. It also leaks where the hose attaches to the unit. The packaging shows hose clamps, but it came with one spring clamp. Don't waste your money. You will be disappointed, frustrated, and most likely won't be able to accomplish the task you set out to when purchasing this item.

This pump worked, transferring 5 gallons of gas from a can to the car in minutes. However, the plastic feels very cheap, and a little bit of gas leaked out from where the tubing that goes to the destination tank connects. I also had a small leak there the battery handle connects to the t section. The tubing itself was really cheap feeling and I don't look for it to last long. I'll replace it with rubber tubing at some point.

I am giving this product 4 stars for one reason - I do not know how long it will hold up Otherwise, I really like this pump.I have used this type of pump for a few years now and I am on my second or third one. I use it to transfer fuel into my boat and plan to use one to transfer diesel fuel into a tractor. For both the boat and the tractor, I have to lift the 5 gallon gas cans up and then try to fill them up without spilling the fuel everywhere. These, especially if you are older, really make the job so much easier.This comes with 2 hoses and battery adapters to use 6 AA batteries instead of 2 D batteries. So you get to choose whatever battery you like or have around the house.Makes refueling so much easier….

This pump is light weight and inexpensive. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for in this instance. The pump is made of cheap plastic, the hoses don't fit tight and it requires a D battery to operate. I can overcome most of the issues with this pump, but I don't have high hopes for the longevity of this product. I suggest looking elsewhere for a fuel transfer pump.
