These Molly Bolts are short and "fat". You'll have to drill a decent size hole to put these into the wall. They do seem stronger and more durable than the thinner ones I normally use though.A few of the vine-reviewers here appear unfamiliar with Molly Bolts, you need an appropriate tool to properly use molly-bolts. I already have that tool, and requested these as refills.

My initial headline was So friggen weak and twisty, and I gave this 1 star. Below is the original review, followed by my explanation for changing it entirely."I love wall anchors. They are some of my favorite things, as they can save a project that would otherwise fail. These wall anchors let me down so much though. I could insert them into the wall just fine, and put the screw in. But, when turning the screw, instead of the rear moving forward and deforming against the back of the drywall to hold it firmly in place... it twisted. So, it was just as narrow as it was when it went in, and when it twisted as far as it could, it was thin enough to start rotating in the hole and making it bigger. So... these messed up a shelf I was installing, and I had to make a new set of holes 2" lower and use different anchors."That doesn't sound very good, does it. Well, I learned something recently. And that is that these anchors are meant to be installed using a tool called a molly bolt setting gun. It pulls the bolt straight to get it to open behind the wall. No twisting. So, it was my use of the wrong tool, and my misunderstanding that led to the above review. Once I got the setting tool, these have proven to be really excellent wall anchors. I wish I had known it prior.

If you can get these not to spin in your hole when trying to tub the screw, they'll crush into the anchor as you tighten them like you'd expect. However, I find my success with these has been illusive.Other brands often have small teeth on the backside of the lip that snugs up to the drywall which anchors them so they won't spin with the screw. These on the other hand are very smooth instead so I, as others have noted, find often the entire unit will spin while trying to crush open the back side anchor before it has grabbed on. These can be a real PITA to remove wheh they didn't crush properly and useless to leave where they are so it's important for the to just work everytime. So in the future I'll be looking for the kind that have some bite into the front surface.
