I bought this to replace a worn out lower hinge on a whirlpool refrigerator. It fit just like it should, and the door opened and closed great...for a few days.The door would clunk and judder when opening and closing. My wife was about to demand that we replace the refrigerator. I bought the genuine part, and it worked.Nice idea, but crappy performance. Buy this only if you like wasting your time and money.

fit perfectly and the timing was correct to properly close the door. Cut a 2X4 the exact length and stuff it under the door. Then remove the hinge, no need to remove the door.

I needed this to fix the refrigerator door on my Whirlpool side by side. The refrigerator door wouldn't automatically close anymore and it would get stuck closing. I began to notice this when I would randomly find the door not completely closed and items in the refrigerator wouldn't as cold as they should be. I replaced this part and now the door closes properly and tightly. The items in my refrigerator are always cold again and this should cut down on how much electricity it consumes since it don't have to run all the time. I speak of durability since its only been installed for a few weeks.
