For adventurers, campers, and anyone seeking off-grid charging solutions, the $48 BigBlue 21W Solar Panel Charger offers a portable and rugged way to keep devices powered. Its foldable design, dual USB ports, and IP68 waterproof rating make it a valuable tool for outdoor activities.**The "Sun-Kissed" Advantages:*** **Portable and Foldable:** The compact and foldable design makes it easy to pack and carry, ideal for backpacking and hiking.* **Dual USB Ports:** Allows for simultaneous charging of two devices, maximizing efficiency.* **High Efficiency Solar Panels:** Converts sunlight into usable energy effectively, providing a reliable power source.* **IP68 Waterproof Rating:** Offers excellent protection against water and dust, making it suitable for harsh outdoor environments.* **Durable Construction:** Built to withstand outdoor use, with rugged materials and reinforced stitching.**The "Cloudy" Considerations:*** **Charging Speed Dependent on Sunlight:** Charging speed is directly affected by sunlight intensity and angle. Cloudy conditions will significantly reduce charging performance.* **Charging Time:** Charging larger devices like tablets or power banks can take a considerable amount of time, even in optimal sunlight.* **No Integrated Battery:** It relies solely on direct sunlight, meaning it cannot store energy for later use.* **Size When Unfolded:** While foldable, the unfolded size can be relatively large, requiring adequate space for optimal sunlight exposure.* **Device Compatibility:** While compatible with most USB devices, some devices may have specific charging requirements that are not fully met.**Final Verdict:**The BigBlue 21W Solar Panel Charger is a reliable and practical solution for off-grid charging. Its portability, durability, and dual USB ports make it a valuable asset for outdoor enthusiasts. While charging performance is dependent on sunlight conditions, it provides a dependable backup power source in remote locations. If you're looking for a portable and rugged solar charger for your outdoor adventures, this one is a solid choice.

I do have a few other fold-up solar panels, including one quite similar to this that was utilized on a long hike. I do have several fold-up solar panels with three panels, including this one. The price for this one is a reasonable one, especially given the fact that these can be much more expensive. Similar to my other panels, this one comes with two quick-release carabiners. From experience, it’s easy to simply hang on the outside of a backpack because this is a lightweight setup. These panels weren’t charged when they arrived, however, I’m not worried about whether or not they work (they will). Solar options are usually considered to be a backup method, however, when one I loaned out was taken on the Long Trail, it became a primary one. It was used to charge a phone and worked better than expected. These panels aren’t meant to power up something like a tablet, but rather meant to be used with smaller devices such as a cell phone. That doesn’t mean this won’t charge up a tablet, but small devices are being targeted here.Unless it’s really sunny out, these panels would take some time to charge in my area. When I put panels like these outside to charge, I try to place them at a 45° angle to maximize my coverage. I do that smaller, flexible solar panels as well. I’m enamored with anything solar, but have to be realistic as to how much power I can draw from them in my particular location, especially in the fall and winter months. Before folding them up, make sure you dust the panels off because dusty panels can scratch them.I do love this type of solar panel, but I’m biased … in a very positive way. As mentioned, the price is more than equitable (under $50), but make sure to check out the specs and be realistic about the capabilities of these panels in your particular area. This particular set of panels is more in line with what someone who hikes could use as they are lighter weight than others I own.SPECS:Solar Panel Peak Power: 21W Mono-CrystallineTotal USB Output: Maximum up to 5V 4.2AUSB-A Output: 5V 3.0AType-C Output: 5V 3.0AUnfolded Size: 24.53” x 8.82” x 0.71”Folded Size: 8.1” x 8.82” x 1.02”Net Weight: 0.51 kg / 1.12 PoundsCertifications: FCC CE UK CAColor: Black and Gray

This is an elegant solar charger that is simple and works well. Note that while it is USB C, it still only does 5V 3A max (which honestly is plenty out in the field). It charges well, even sitting inside my car under the windshield. I like the build construction including gaskets over the ports to protect from dust and moisture. My only complaint I that it includes two carabiners that appear to be meant to go through the grommets in the corners to hang it on a backpack, but they are too large to fit through the grommets! And if you try to stuff them through, you might break the panel, so minus one star for that fact.

I didn’t necessarily need this but it’s awesome. Functions great easy to use if you have sun. Charges not super fast but no bad, and seem to have decent build quality. Has a usbc port

This is the missing item I needed for when I go camping! Just lay it out in the sun and it charges your phone. It charges fairly quickly as well.
