This device makes really good gelato which is more dense than ice cream. It either doesn't turn fast enough or the blade isn't designed right to incorporate enough air to make good ice cream.

The main reason I bought this was because it specifically indicated it was a gelato maker, as opposed to an ice cream maker. Also being almost 40 pds of stainless steel, it made me think it was probably very good, just like espresso machine with stainless steel make a better espresso than machines with plastic.I love the fact that I can make a gelato after another, without having to wait for the bowl to freeze.Gelato is made with eggs yolks and less cream than ice cream, and it is creamier. The recipes use mostly fresh fruits (the strawberry is so good!) I will also experiment with different fruits. The English in the recipes is at times confusing and repetitive, but overall, the machine is great.

Purchased this amazing machine several weeks ago. I now have used it multiple times and each and every time I am amazed at the finished product. The ice cream is amazing. We have a remodeling project going on and I make ice cream for the boys Friday after lunch. Rave reviews by everyone that has had the pleasure in partaking in the ice cream social.10 Stars for me...Quiet....easy to use...and excellent ice cream to enjoy!

Love! Love! Love! This ice cream maker. It's the real deal. Made three batches the day after it arrived. Can't say enough good about it. Good value for price. Easy to use. Not noisy. Beautiful little machine. The firmish ice cream I've ever made in an ice cream machine.

The ice cream I've made with this ice cream maker is excellent and it is very easy to use. My only concern is that I can't find a place to buy an additional paddle and mixing bowl. I am assuming that at some point the plastic paddle will wear out and will need to be replaced. It would be nice (faster) to have an additional mixing bowl to use when making more than one type of ice cream. F.Y.I. - I've used powdered egg yolks in my ice cream recipes and it works great - and saves time by not having to temper the liquid egg mixture before using.Update: Hometone ICE-2581 is the same machine. They were willing to sell me an extra paddle and mixing bowl when I contacted their customer support. I have now made several wonderful batches of ice cream with this machine. The trick is learning how long to let the mixing process run, depending on the type of ice cream you are making. It is ALWAYS less than what the Couplux recipe book says. You'll also want to experiment with the amount of cream and milk - and the amount of add ins for specific flavors you are making. We love this machine.

This product is incredibly easy to use and delivers excellent results. The recipe provides the perfect portion, and in just 36 minutes, the ice cream is ready—smooth, creamy, and delicious. The machine operates with minimal noise, and the temperature is conveniently displayed on the dashboard while it spins. There's no need to pre-freeze the bowl, which adds to its convenience. It's unfortunate that we can't trace the origins of the product or identify its inventor and owner. We’ll have to wait and see how it performs in the long term.

I took it out of the box on Christmas eve. It would not even get cold after hours of running so disappointed
