I had high hopes for this tape. It seemed thick, had a great feel when tearing it, but the cables I secured together (which were not under any stress) just as a test didn't even last 3 days before it was completely unravelled. I know gaffer's tape is supposed to have reduced adhesion over time because it's designed to be temporary, but I figured it would last for more than 2-3 days before becoming totally useless. The tape was still sticking on the cable itself, but it just unravelled in the area where it was stuck to itself. I don't know exactly how many days it lasted, but personally don't feel that it was enough. If you need something for a day or so, (like an event performance, or temporary setup) then this tape would be perfect for you. Maybe my expectations are too high for it.Either way, it will get used, just not for anything mid-long term. That's what duct tape is for!

This leans too far into the "easy to remove" feature of gaffer tape by failing to stay adhered in the first place. At least twice, this tape peeled off a vertical surface all on its own. It lasted only a few hours. There was no movement or anything disturbing the tape; it simply lost its stickiness and began drooping down from where it was placed. The tape wasn't holding anything up, or anything together. There was no structural stress or weight applied to the tape. It was put over the gap between a door and a doorway, the door was never even touched, and this tape still failed to stay stuck. So I'm entirely disappointed.

This is your typical pro gaffers tape. It has good adhesion and thickness and was able to stay on the hardwood and hold cables in place. It also held on the concrete cinder block. Afterwards, it was easy to remove and did not leave any residue. I love the width and usually go for this 2 inch width. It does have a matte finish on the outside. I guess its PVC frosting and helps with grip and water resistance. I'd say this tape is right up there in quality as other "professional" rolls of gaff I've used in studios. I love the 2 pack and at $17.99 for 2 rolls @2x30yds is a decent price so I'd say this is a fair value. I use gaff tape a lot in the studio so these 2 rolls will go by quick!

This stuff seems fine to me. Easy to tear, sticks pretty well, and overall seems comparable to the other gaff tape rolls I have lying around.

Gaffer's tape is useful in the same way that duct tape is, but is superior for many home and business applications. Gaffer's tape is sturdy and easier to handle than other tapes, and because it's fabric-backed, is easier to tear precisely without needing scissors or a knife.Gaffer's tape is primarily for temporary installations, and its adhesive will let go over time. This is a feature, because it means that you can tape something down for a few days or so, and still be able to remove it cleanly. This two-pack of tape is enough a substantial installation of whatever type. Myself, I use gaffer's tape to lay out floor plans for rehearsal spaces, marking for the actors where scenic elements will be when they're actually built. You can no doubt think of many other uses.Recommended

I usually use the thinner gaffers tape but am glad that I found this alternative. It is easy to tear, so if you need only a short piece you can tear in into a 2" sideways strip. It's heavy duty but does not leave residue on plastic surfaces. Good alternative to have around the studio

Gaffers tape? What's a gaffer?According to Dictionary.com it's "the chief electrician on the set of a movie or television show" and this is the tape they use in their work to secure and hide electrical lines and other stuff. It differs from duct tape in that it is not shiny but is matte in color, it's made of woven cotton, and it's adhesive is a synthetic that is very sticky but leaves no residue when you remove the tape. Duct tape leaves a lot of residue. This stuff is really great around the house or workshop and like I said "leaves no residue".I can highly recommend this tape, it's great.
